Non-Oxygenated Gas
What’s the deal with non-oxygenated gas? One the local gas stations (Cenex) advertises non-oxygenated gas so I bought a tank at $4.09 per gallon. On the pump handle is says that it’s for antique and seasonal vehicles so that sounds good. I can’t tell if my 1800 T4 cares.

Re: Non-Oxygenated Gas
I dont think it will make it run better but it does reduce moisture in the engine. Thus being good for seasonal vehicles and antiques that are rarely driven.

Re: Non-Oxygenated Gas
Thanks zabo, I forgot to mention that it only offered in 91 octane. Normally I go for the 87 stuff. I don't know if it's available in other states although I would imagine that it would be.

Re: Non-Oxygenated Gas
I believe the only reason gas is oxygenated is for pollution reasons. Additives can either be ethanol or MTBE, depending on the political climate.
Problem is that the oxygenators don't have as much energy as an equivalent amount of gas, so you actually get more power and better mileage with non-oxygenated gas.
Your rubber fuel lines will like it better too as its just old fashioned gas vs the crap with corn in it to water it down.

Re: Non-Oxygenated Gas
I get a lot better mileage with 91 octane non-ethanol. Worth the extra money to me.
