Noisy Vanity Rings

Post by Sluggo » Mon Feb 11, 2008 8:12 pm

One of my vanity rings are really noisy when I drive. Especially when I hit a bump. It's an annoying loud squeaking sound. Any ideas?

Take 'em off?

They always do that. Might try some friction tape on the backside if you're determined to keep 'em.

Mine made such a sound I took them off also. Once I learned the secret to quieting them down I put them back on.
Heres the secret.......into each of the small clips.....each one I say, put a dab of grease into it.
Re-attach them and drive happily ever after. They sure look cool with my new set of hub-caps.
If someone is looking for a cure to keeping the rust from invading cheaper chrome bumpers or Tiwan made hub caps let me know.

Clean the chrome really really well, then spray a coat of clear paint over the surface.
