I don't think so. The Vanagon sliders are larger if I remember correctly. Maybe the Gypsie can measure his for you.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.

Damn. I can get a nice set of Vanagon sliders for $40. But Bus ones seem to be much more expensive.

They sure are - I have been looking for a decent pair for sometime - they all seem to be around $200 +
I'm all out of ideas and I've tried nothing.

They will not fit under any circumstance. Unless you have a glass sander and can reduce the dimensions of the window framing too.

Not sure why all the hooplah over those sliders, the Westy windows sure are nice and keep the rain out. I think they're a better solution, personally.

The only reason I would consider changing is to get rid of the constant rattle the jalousies produce.

Mine rattle on F.S. roads. The whole bus does really! Sounds like an old GMC transit bus.

My jalousies don't rattle, but the screens do. I got some flexible window beading (looks like a roll of clay), and put it around the perimeter of the screens. Cured the rattling noise.

I posted this to the type 2 list back in Oct 2002:
http://www.type2.com/archive/type2/097536.html

I have both bay and Vanagon sliders outside, so I measured them. [Instead of
giving 'about' figures]

Measuring the outside frame where the seal rests around the edge end to end
[length]:
Vanagon = 41 3/4"
Bay = 41 1/4"
Vanagon is 1/2" longer.

Measuring top to bottom [height]:
Vanagon = 16"
Bay = 14 1/2"
Vanagon is 1 1/2" taller.

Measuring the center post where it meets the frame:
Vanagon = 15 1/4"
Bay = 13 3/4"
[same 1 1/2"]

WCM outer seal part #:
Vanagon = 253-8411
Bay = 241-321A-L/R

The only part of a Vanagon slider that may work on a Bay slider would be the
felt on the center post.......

-------------------------------------------------

Westfalia jalousies rattle because people drive with them open. This tears them up. Says so right in the owners amnual, but no reads them!

-------------------------------------------------

If you want sliders with screens, you have two choices.

1) Find a set of ASI Riviera sliders from 68 to 77. They installed American made sliders with screens installed. Here is a picture of one:
http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/287917.jpg

2) Find a pair of ASI Riviera screens that were installed on 78-79 buses that Riviera put over the VW sliders. They did not replace the sliders, just put half screens on them. They have a fuzz bar where the glass slides. Used 4 long screws thru the rubber seal and body lip. They look like these:

http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/241558.jpg
http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/241559.jpg

-------------------------------------------------

And yes, I have all three: a pair of ASI Riviera sliders, a pair of ASI Riviera screens for the 78-79, and pairs of 78-79 bus sliders in either clear or green tint.....
