gauge of sheet metal

Anyone have an idea on the gauge of sheet metal used on the bus. I've heard that anything from 18 to 22 gauge was used? Maybe different thickness were used in different areas...

I think it depends on the year. My 73 seemed to be much thicker than my 78. And I've heard other similar comments...
