Itinerant Air-Cooled

Went to Bugarama yesterday and JBugs was showing off the new upholstery kits from Legendary.

I will say though, the quality appears to be FAR better than TMI's stuff. The welded panels are smooth and tight with no overhang, even the backer boards seem better on the door cards. I don't think I'll be buying their kits at a grand a pop, but it's nice seeing some premium stuff out there.

Also, I chatted with the owner of JBugs for a while. I didn't know that JBugs was originally owned by TMI, who sold it to him some 15 years ago.

I can't yet imagine which car of mine gets one of those upholstery sets . . . I am sort of leaning towards the yellow with black racing stripes for the BobD.

It was not all that long ago that you could buy three running VW bugs for the price of one of those sets. Of course, the upholstery would be in the expected condition, but who cared?

Do they sell original style, year correct upholstery or just this racing stripe stuff?!?

They do the basketweave vinyl in factory colors too, but not Legendary. Just TMI. WW I think has some pretty correct upholstery too.
