My passenger window is sloppy, loose and un-coooperative....what are the basic things to look at in the mechanism ?

Lubricate the winder gearbox and cable inside of the guide. It is readily accessible along the entire length. To prevent rattling slipping sloppy action, you may gently and carefully squeeze the guide around the cable to snug it up a bit.
