Bay Window Passenger Foot Rest.

My wife's complaint when riding in my bay is that her feet don't reach the floor in the front passenger seat. I keep a folded up moving blanket there for her to rest her feet on. When Colin was here yesterday, he told me that he had seen a very nifty wooden one that someone on this forum had built. Anyone have any ideas, or pics of something I can build?

My legs are plenty long enough to reach the floor, but on the rare occasion that I am a passenger in the front of a bus - I also wish I had one of these.

I saw that bar on Samba, but I'm not keen on that design. Keeping your feet on that rail over a long trip would be uncomfortable, I believe. I'm thinking of a raised, removable platform floor, about 4" above the existing floor.

I use a 914 passenger foot rest out of a 69-71. Its perfect for my wife as she is 5'2" and she loves it to rest her legs on. It flips over too for to fit longer legs. Its covered in perlon which is that gray heavy duty cloth VW and Porsche used.

If you want the measurements I can measure it so folks can build their own.

Now that's neat. Looks to be 12" x 18". Is it tent shaped? Thank you.

It would cut off/crush your ankles, or trap you but good in an accident if your feet were on the floor.

The footrest idea is fine! A stupid metal rail is not!

Here is a pic of it. I could make several of these if people were interested.

I think the 914 guys call it a Dog Bone...

Im sure there would be more interest in it. Show some pictures of what it looks like while in use.

What would you make yours out of? Is the original a hard foam?
