Reminds me of whipping work in my sailboat days.

Serious looking wheel you got there. I did that to the Road Warrior. My Squareback had a cracked rim on the steering wheel that I was not going to repair on the road, so I went to a bike shop and got handlebar tape, a nice deep grey almost suede:

Is that http://www.gowesty.com/ec_view_details. ... parent_id= from GoWesty?

As recommended by http://www.ratwell.com/technical/EssentialUpgrades.html ?

If so, would you say it's worth the coin?

Yes, that's the one. It was worth it to me. On my 4,000 mile trip this summer, the heat and humidity made the wheel on my '78 pretty gummy. This cover solves that unpleasantness. It's one of those little things that is off my checklist. Next is retractable, modern 3 point seatbelts, on order now.
