Hey, what is the method for checking a starter? It's been a long time. I seem to recall putting a screwdriver across the terminals, but I don't remember the exact method.
Want to isolate ignition switch VS the starter itself.

Yes simply connect the large terminal which is hot all the time to the small one and the starter should turn the engine.

And to keep electrical shenanigans away from the ignition switch, pull off the wire from the switch (red and black striped).
