Hiya Bob,

Are you happy with the light output and the aim of the headlights? They do look a lot brighter in your pictures.
I have cancer.

It does not have me.

I haven't driven it at nite yet! :blackeye:
But the light is very nice, pure white. And it seems like it's a much more controlled beam.
A side note, have you ever tried to aim lites in the daytime? Yeah.

Tired, so I drove the bus to work today.
Lights are very nice bright light, but alas they are aimed too low. Try again.

What's the procedure for aiming these things anyway?

Same as sealed beams, those 2 adjusting screws.

Thanks for the instructions. I did it that way with the sealed beams, but they were too low and I wound up doing the trial and error method.
The H4s are still too low after driving it last night. It's better though. The light output is much brighter than sealed beams, and with greater coverage. It will be interesting to see once I get them adjusted correctly.
Of course one of the adjusting screws is kind of stripped out, I may have to replace that headlight bracket. Yep the rusty one...

Trying to adjust the headlights, but alas that adjuster is indeed stripped. Tried to superglue it but it just wouldn't work. Trying to be stupid and save a nickel on a worn out part but at least ya gotta try. Some quick rigs can last a long time...(others not somuch.} I can actually pull the headlight back and forth from the stripped screw, nice.
So it goes with antique aircraft. OE headlight retainers seem to be hard to find, only Taiwan aftermarket from CIP1.
Not sure but OEVeedub only had 2 on the shelf. Mexico OE Supplier says the website. Keeping the fingers crossed that I'm not getting the ol switcheroooooooooooo.
VW parts availability is highly variable. It's strange, all of sudden there will be a really good quality part out of nowhere. Others are just hard to get.

I'm tired of messing with worn out crap. Those adjusters seem delicate and I didn't want to take a chance with a used part.

Talked with OEVW. The part is indeed as represented. Hella? I'm guessin'.
