Hiya Bob,

I gotta question about those lights..................

I noticed that they are billed as European H-4s. Does that mean that they are aimed to the left instead of the right? When I hit the high beams with my current lights (Wagners) the bulbs have a built in aim to the left on high.
I have cancer.

It does not have me.

I'm sure they're the right ones, there's a thread on Samba on the subject:

Made in Sweeden.

Do they install/aim the same way as the sealed beams?

Talk about sales "spin". The same part is even less at German Supply ... and that's not even on "sale".

That price is for a pair, o snarky sourpusses.
1/2 off! Tis true.
Bosch European H4 Headlights - PAIR
Incredible Deal - Were $100! This is the best $44 you will ever spend on your VW - a huge improvement over your stock sealed-beam headlights! Direct bolt-on replacement for your 7" round headights - install in minutes. Also fits all other cars that take 7" round (H6014 or H6024) headlights, from Mazda to Mercedes.

Description: These are the same Bosch H4's widely praised on the Samba and the VW Vanagon and Type 2 mailing lists, now below dealer cost! You can find a very detailed independent review here. (Note: Like most H4 headlights, these are U.S. D.O.T. approved for "motorcycle" or "off road" use only; check local inspection laws.)

Bosch doesn't include bulbs, but we've obtained a half price deal on those as well. Click here to order quality German H4 60/55w bulbs for just $3.95 each.
$4 ain't too shabby for German bulbs either.

I know it's still early hammie but read the description ... the GS price is also for a pair AND includes bulbs.

Do these (or I guess I should ask about the bulbs themselves) mate directly up to the existing harness plug?

Ok the Bus Depot lights are $2 more, ya got me. But the Germansupply bulbs are Asian (Chinese probably). German upgrade is $10 from Germansupply.

Busdepot $52 pair with German bulbs
Germansupply $51 pair with German bulbs

Comperable. Also, the Germansupply lights are under "monthly specials".
I see no spin here. They both must have the same source for the parts.
Germansupply sells good stuff, but shipping can take forever to the US in my experience.

Am I missing something?

Previously (before the sale) they were 2x what they cost now, from Busdepot. That's why I didn't get 'em b4, too much cabbage for a cheapskate.
I usually bristle at that type of stuff, but this seems clean.
Dig it, from other vendors:

Other than BD or GS I was unable to find anything comperable from the typical VW vendors. Lots of knockoffs of course.

Well, I got a set and put them on my 70 Ghia which was a tremendous change. I had a set of H4 on the Westy already.

EVeryone in Europe drives on the right, 'cept the Brits.. right?
The best navigators aren't sure where they're going until they get there. And then they're still not sure.

Nothing is ever "5 minutes" with a '69 bus, especially in areas little traveled. Other than the headlight holder thingy, the buckets looked good. One small hole that I JB'ed.
They fit really well though. Like they were made for the bus.
