Distributor Disassembly

Post by tristessa » Sat Dec 26, 2009 4:59 pm

I came across this on vwvortex.com the other day, and thought this was a slick tool the guy made for pushing out the pin. It's a 16V water-cooled VW distributor, but the drive dog looks *awfully* familiar doesn't it?

Anyway, just wanted to share.

Very nice. I have not had trouble tapping out those roll pins, so I don't need the tool, but it is nice to know we might have a supply of drive dogs.

Yeah, and not just from the 16V VW engines -- some of the '80s-'90s Saabs use a distributor that bolts onto the VW 16V.
