Wiper switch

Post by poptop tom » Fri Mar 08, 2013 10:59 am

I just received my "new" used wiper switch from Wayout Salvage!

Before installation, I want to know if its wise to spray a cleaner into
the area where the stalk (arm) goes into the mechanism that it moves back and forth in.

And if so, what is best to use for this application?

Is there a lube that should then be applied after any potential cleaner product has dried?

And what particular product for that app?

Thanks!

Do NOT spray cleaner in there, it will strip the lubricant out. Just make sure it works.

The original switch, wasn't it the one that had to run the wipers upside down or something, it is so vague in my memory . . . . ?

Derrick at way out tested it for me. My existing wipers work on fast speed but not slow. I had to hold the "stalk" in between positions to work at the slower speed.

No cleaner will be used. Thanks.
