seems like a good idea. Anyone know why it's spec'd for a porsche 914 and not vw?

VW used to care. Early buses had beautiful end caps (see IAC in Iowa thread in 2011 Itinerary) deleted to save a penny in later buses,Gypsie wrote:seems like a good idea. Anyone know why it's spec'd for a porsche 914 and not vw?
then they had fitted flanges that they deleted for straight flat surface-to-surface. Without the flanges, I would use gaskets if they were available. Recheck bolt torque with gaskets, they crush and drop clamping force after initial assembly.
