Grease the input shaft before installing a new seal with lithium grease hah? Or will it interfere with the trans oil?

Grease will not interfere with transaxle oil.
I would recommend our usual molybdenum disulfide CV grease
a) because the ring and pinion would love it,
b) it has better shear resistance which is the force acting upon a seal in the first place for the first few seconds.
