Pressure plate replace?

I have the tranny out for clutch issues. The springs on the TO bearing went out. I am replacing the bearing and disk but should I replace the pressure plate or resurface? The plate is within bentley specs. It has an inward taper of only .003in, no burns, and no oil, rivets and springs look good also. I am one that does not like to waste and to replace strictly because it is out is what I dont want to do. The plate is a Luk so it is not junk.

Do you?
Just put back in.
Re-surface then put back in.
Replace with new.

I am also replace all seals and bearings in this general area if you were wondering.

I would have no problem with reusing the pressure plate as is.

I reuse them but not in a costumer job always new for them. I have had pressure plates not work right with a new disk its rare but it happens the plate is weak and will not pull away from a new thicker disk Like I say its rare but I have had it happen. never resurface a pressure plate unless you have it rebuilt flywheel ya if it needs it.

I do not ever use a machine shop to resurface . . . I sand with 220 grit emerycloth in a dense and thorough 45* cross-hatch.
The Road Warrior had a 588,230 mile pressure plate that worked fine.

same here if they need more then that I replace them. I funny thing is by the time I buy a new disk and TO bearing its only a few more bucks for a new pressure plate. I last new kit I put in my 71 bus a couple of years ago the reason is the pressure plate went soft it wouldn't stay in adjustment I was coming back from a camping trip and I had to adjust it about every 100 miles to get home I have never had one do that. When I pulled the engine looked at the disk it was fine and you couldn't see a problem with the plate but it was bad.

Three arm, or diaphragm finger style? Sachs? Rebuilt or new?

I step on used pressure plates to check for tension. If I am 155 lbs, just a nice little press on the center should require that my other foot be off the ground + a little jump. If it presses right down, I do not trust it.

diaphragm is what went bad it was Sachs not rebuilt but old. I was coming back from a camping trip and all the sudden my clutch went out of adjustment and it wasn't the cable. I readjusted it went down the road and 50 later out of adjustment again so readjusted it again 50 more miles did it again it went on like that all the way home lucky I didn't run out of adjustment. pulled the engine instulled a new Sachs clutch kit and good as new that was three years ago.
