Can I wire my air flaps shut for the winter?

for poops and laughs I tried to simply remove that spring from one of the two flapper assemblies I have and it would be a HUGE pain in the butt just to get it off - and that's with the thing completely taken out of the vehicle and sitting on the desk. I think you'd end up mangling the spring so much in the process that it would be less work to remove the motor from the vehicle and swap in a rod with the spring already attached.

The other day I had the engine idling for a while, but not until hot...I can't remember what for, but I did. The next day doing a cold valve adjustment at 20 something degrees, there was milky water/oil streaks all inside the valve covers. Yuck.

I found a pulley and bracket in my parts bin with the t-stat. :cheers:
