Do we care if this pulley is plastic and not metal?

Well....I care.

I can't imagine that it would matter. Plastic must have been a cost savings.

I kind of care too.
I like the weight savings; we'll probably get another 0.000078 mpg and an extra 0.000012 mph to the top speed with it on there, but still...plastic?

I have seen several plastic wheels missing a piece. I have never seen a metal one missing a piece. Heinz Nordhoff, why did you have to die?

if you can tell me where to find an affordable type 4 'stat i'll love you forever! mine's toast.

just picked up 2 '70s, one full of engine parts.. i'll rummage and see if there is a metal pulley amongst the junk. yours if i find one and you want it.

Thanks, but I have a metal one. The engine showed up with this pleeechstic one and I wondered if I had good reason to change it. I think I will.

(Talk to Brax Euro Parts in Divide (406-267-3321) about a Type IV thermostat. I have one off a junked Rivy in Arlee but can't bear to part with it.)
