x2 on the Philbin. Thanks to Bookwus I wound up with a freshly rebuilt vacuum only dist. for my bus. Night and day vs the old worn one, it would stall dowhill and lack perkiness.
Doing the home-repair first and then taking to Philbin to make sure it's advancing propery and not worn out might not be a bad way to go, maybe save you some of the overhaul $$$. But I'm sure their test equipment is far beyond what the home mechanic has in the garage.
Or koff up the $50 ya cheapskate! :blackeye:

Question:

When it is idling at 1600 and you put it in gear and slowly let out the clutch, will the idle go back to about 850-900 RPMs and maintain that idle speed?

I have yet to see one of these CS run well until the CHTs hit about 200º.
