Thanks for all the feedback on the oil temp sensors. After a three day trip, some steep climbs on the road, many soaks in the hot springs, and only a couple readings around 240' (at the peak of the climbs) only to lower with a nice coast downhill with no load on the engine; I done think Bad Danger is ready and willing. It felt so good to be on the road again, especially after a 7 week stint in rebuild land! My hounds were equally excited. Many have offered their opinions on the VDO and I appreciate it from all directions. What i came to figure is that it was 'comforting' to know an approximate oil temp and gave me more insight as to how the engine runs and at what tempo it runs at different stages of the journey. I still got a little nervous when the gauge was rising from 235' and even pulled over in the shade for twenty minutes to let'er cool down a bit and finished 'Travels with Charley' by Steinbeck - what an amazing book! I have attached a couple pics for y'all to see. Cheers.
