Master Cylinder Plunger

Post by Jays60rag » Fri Sep 04, 2009 6:06 pm

I have a 1960 bug and I have a later pedal cluster on it. I also have a dual circuit master cylinder. I have had a problem with the length of the plunger I should be using. I was told that there was a shorter version and a longer version. Well I am now confused. I have two later model components, master cylinder and pedal assembly. I would expect that I need to use the plunger that is on the pedal cluster that I have. However, I got some advice and I cut my plunger by about an inch. I have had a terrible time getting these brakes to work and I think it is because the plunger is too short. Does anyone know anything about this?
