Solution: It took 32 ozs for me to replace the brake fluid in my late bay ( '78 ).
However, I needed a few more (4) ounces because of 'over kill' and a loose rear brake bleeder screw.
I purged my system with new fluid. I used the kind that was colored, so I could see when I was getting fresh brake fluid out the bleeder screws. At first, I got more out than I needed to because I did not check the bottle enough.
Now I can purge my brake system in 15 minutes or less, given that
I am completely set up and working alone, and without any tools other than
- the 7mm box wrench,
the funnel with a clear hose attached to pour the fluid in the brake reservoir,
a small clear container that I can put 2 oz of brake fluid into (so I get the right amount into the brake reservoir without over-filling) and
the bottle / clear hose to capture the brake fluid out of the bleeder screw,
I would share my simple technique if there is any interest.
