I tried my degreaser, and it didn't put a dent in the greasy/waxy kinda orange goo they seem to have been dipped in for a protective film. What has worked for folks? Does it burn off?

New from where? GumOut has worked for me on new VW of Germany parts that have that "cryolene" (?) wax protectant. Or is it cosmolene?

Some have used denatured alcohol on newly machined parts to remove coatings, lubricants, and swarf.

Carb or brake cleaner are my go to for the bottom layer...after scraping the thicker goo with a pointy piece of wood.
