Are you ready for the next dangerous experiment?

Get the engine warm. Get to the AFM. Take off the black cap. You can nudge the wiper clockwise while it is running. Do only a little bit and *find the happy place* where it runs well.

Now, rev engine to a decent 2,500-3,000 rpm. Move the wiper clockwise again. Does the engine speed up as in it likes it?

Let me know.

Apply a dab of paint to the black cog tooth that is locked by that steel wire.
Apply another little dot of paint to the plastic tooth closest to the closest metal edge on the wiper, so you have an initial starting point that you can return to.

nudge the wiper clockwise while it is running.

I need specificity here, or we are going to get lost.
What is rich black smoke moved two teeth then four? Moving the wiper is a fluid movement to experiment while the engine is running. We have not yet adjusted anything where we need to count teeth to be able to restore it to initial adjustment as necessary.

With a warm engine, you moved the wiper CLOCKwise (towards lean) and you got no improvement?
Seriously? Just for the record, I have never ever moved the wiper towards lean on a rich running engine without immediate results. I just need to verify that you actually moved the wiper lean, don't count teeth YET,just move the wiper and see if the engine cleans up.
If you have black smoke and have verified that your injectors are actually cycling and not leaking and cannot lean it out, you have a problem.
Where are you located on this good Earth?
