What is the effect of switching leads to the injectors, i.e. #1 &#2 reversed?

Nothing, on L-Jet cars like buses. All the injectors "batch fire" at the same time.

(On other D-Jet cars like some Porsche's and most Type 3s, the injectors fire in groups of two and need more careful wiring.)

The only issue is that if someone is OCD they will pull over in traffic, and switch them back if they find out you changed them... .
