What the hell, somebody actually looks at these?

No, not dense? And you can't call me oblique as much as you can, "lacking any and all pertinent information".

I got a little pissed at that venue about several things I've noticed about the management of that venue over the last year. After seeing the video, though, I had to ask, what the hell am I DOING?!?! I schlep a car full of equipment and help make a place for people to perform, all the time increasing revenues for a venue that treats us with indifference at best. Fuck 'em. There has to be better places that that.

So the new policy is that I play for more than a set or lug equipment and its not for charity in some way, you pay me. And you better show some appreciation for your musicians - even if its a free cup of coffee once in a while, or I'm done with you.

This free music for venues has to stop: we're just hurting ourselves.

But I do like that song. Yes I do. Its kind of haunting, and I'm glad that Bruce re-did the arrangement so I could play it.

Another recent development is that I have a friend - real nice guy - who asked me to fill in as a lead guitar player for his band. I told him I don't do that. He said he had faith that I'd have no problem. Well, he's a real sweet guy, so I found resources and dusted off the Telecaster.

While getting familiar with scales and such, I ended up farting around with my old arrangement of "Eleanor Rigby" - tacking on a little lead. I did a one-take video of an interim result late last night:

That right there would be the first mid-song solo-type thing I ever created on my own.

That's some serious pretty good, MeyerII. You'd be an excellent set at the DeschutesRendezVW .
