Just wanted to let everyone know that we fixed the problems with the photo album & "Forbidden" errors.

Turned out to be a server issue. For once something isn't my fault!

If anyone else has this problem, let me know. You may have to clear your cache if you were viewing the album before the update. Press "shift" & "F5" at the same time to clear your cache.

Warts and all, we are beholden to you for putting up this site. I've said it before, job, marriage, kids, and restoring a vintage vehicle, and then running a web site! You're doing a great job.

Hay Sluggo, First off thanks for the effort and success or is that one c or one s :colors: any way when you and Colin get together will you please talk about a "Stickey" of your kind :geek: for posting pictures on your site ? I know im not the only one having problems, and will be important to new members for help on all air-cooled problems. Maybe Busrepairman aka Ryan can come up with one of his helpfull list to make it understandable to us less teck savey.

Thanks for consideration, Barb

Hey Elwood, as a temporary fix you might try using a web solution such as photobucket to host your photo's. http://photobucket.com/
Basically you upload your photos to them, then they supply the link to the picture for you and you simply copy / paste it within the forum. using the IMG tag. When posting there is an icon above that says IMG (image) You click it and then put the link within the brackets. Like this

Code: Select all

Untill Sluggo gets the bugs worked out of the album, or gallery this might be the easiest way for you.

thank you love my bus for that info, but I do not trust putting my photos in someplace to be shared by unknown avenues. Yes it is ignorance of the systems but Ive seen so many ugly photo crops and shops Im leary of anything I don,t understand. Best i wait for this site to get settleled to post any picts, I really don,t need to prove anything anyway, I love what Im doing and read about so many that don,t have picts at all?

Elwood~ No matter where you put a photo online (unless there is a trick I don't know), anyone who views it will be able to save it to their computer. That is why we should be cautious which images we chose to share.

The free photo album services, of which photobucket is only one of many, are a great way to begin sharing photos. Photobucket became known early because they allowed individual photos to be linked to other websites (so they can be seen on other web pages). Now many of the others are doing the same. I have used myphotoalbum, webshots, and kodakgallery. Myphotoalbum offers various formats, the black background being my favorite.

Linking to your own photo album has advantages. When I put a picture on the Samba gallery, I am unable to remove it later, so I sometimes am unwilling to share certain images. In my personal albums, I can edit whenever I choose. You can also choose to make your albums available only to invited guests who are required to register.

I haven't actually tried linking to my albums, but webshots just added the feature recently. Here is a test with a photo on webshots:

Thanks Robin, That clears up alot, now understand that when you say "My Album" it could be on various sites to pull from and post anywhere you choose. Baby steps :flower:

Your pots look beautifull!
