NaranjaWesty Awakens To 2018

Started up, just like that . . . drove beautifully, just like that . . . sounded like a scalded cat when I stepped on the clutch pedal. I am ordering a release bearing . . . just like that:

Fresh paint on the eaves of the Law Firm, and a rebuild project pending on the porch:

Drove to the Emerald Coast tech session and helped out with a varnished gas tank removal. Yeah, I know, memories flooded back when I saw/smelled the brown coffee junk come spewing out of Don's gas tank. Then I brought NaranjaWesty back to the house and just hit 74,000 miles in the driveway:

Look! A top freezer Whirlpool garage refrigerator:

But you cannot hear the cat fight that was going on inside:

Image

The thirty year-old evaporator fan had finally dried out its bearings. It's like riding a bike, once you know how to tear down an old Whirlpool freezer evaporator fan, you can just do it again 17 years later:

Tried my special atf/engine oil sauce to free up the shaft inside the sort-of-bronze bearing. Got everything rotating smoothly:

Reassembled. Plugged it in. Fan spun. Left the garage.
Came back. All quiet now . . . . because it wouldn't rotate at all.

You see, campers, atf/engine oil at ZERO DEGREES is too thick, DUH! Disassembled, cleaned out the bearings, lightly oiled with WD-40. Now it works, stupid.

Waxed my big ol' tangerine with the excellent emergency brake:

The Lexus does not need any more wax:

And today, Super Bowl and tax transmittal to the IRS.
Colin GO TAXES!

Well, now that the game is over, I cannot vote. I see a 50/50 tally up there.

I wanted the Patriots to win because they are so good and I claim the northeast as my region. Old man Brady made me feel a little better about being old man Itinerator, BUT, I like underdogs too, and the Eagles were a worthy upset competitor, even if their fans are boorish (no really, an Eagles fan punched out a police horse and picked on a 98 year-old Vikings fan).

Congratulations, Philadelphia, and that last play of the second quarter was an absolute beauty. Quarterback Nick Foles collected a pass on a sneaky little fake for the score. Total yards between both teams, 1,151. Great game.

No doubt, enjoyable game. I really couldn't lose, rooting for underdog under-appreciated (at one time) Michigan boy Tom Brady, and also underdog (previously) under-appreciated blue-collar Philadelphia Eagles.

Yeah, that's while still hating the whole violent macho jock alpha-male bully culture embodied by the NFL. But damn, the purity of the effort, and beauty of the God-given talent out there on the field is still something to behold.

I didn't know there was a big game today until I went for burritos and the local hot spot was EMPTY. So I voted for the Patriots early in the day, since they had zero votes.

Will the release bearing swap be the first time Nacanja's engine comes completely out of the car?

Yes. But today's little issue may take precedence, and Miami is rushing up on me (rushing, get it?), so I might have to release the release bearing to its fate a while longer.

OK, the "issue" (while my departure date rushes up . . . )

Just read this here at 84,000 miles. How . . . prescient this post was.
