Itinerant Air-Cooled

One of my co-worker has a cute little 318I vert that will not start. At first the local BMW dealer thought that it was his factory security system, but no they are thinking it may be the on board "computer" (I assume it is similar to our ECU). I think the dealer ends up "flashing the computer" to get even another to work int he car, but I really don't know.

Does anyone make a decent manual with wiring schematics for this thing? I would hate to see such a clean little car go to the crusher.

alas, I don't. however, I would suggest checking out bimmerfest.com , Very active forum with lots of knowledgeable folks. Used it when I had an E39.
