So I haven't been around much...
How the heck is everybody! ainokea's thread resurrections brought me back. :)
Can't afford a bus now. Holy crap they're expensive here in SoCal. I should have hung onto the Guac. Sigh...
When I moved back to So Cal, I sold my 86 Saab 900, but after getting settled and a good job bought a 99 Saab 9-3 convertible. Lowered, upgraded from 15's to 17x7.5's, other upgrades... Now, nearly 4 years later, I traded it in on a 2006 Saab 9-5. Yeah, I love my little turbo charged 4 cylinder engines. And the little luxuries like auto dimming mirrors (all 3), heated seats AND cooled seats (a fan blowing up your bum is something that has to be felt to be believed), gloriously smooth ride, quick little 2.3L engine, and the annoying flappy paddle (I never use that part, stupid Aisin transmission) 5 speed auto, and I'm in heaven while commuting to work.
I'm always keeping my eyes open (and my wife and daughter do too) for that ACVW that we sorely need. My daughter still bugs me about getting rid of the Guac. I mean, here she is on the day I sold it:
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi to everybody! I miss the VW scene.

They're getting pricier up here, but Bus prices do still drop when you cross the state line out of California. If you get serious about looking for something, I'm sure someone up here could be eyes-on-the-ground in the Portland area for you...
Glad to see you pop by! I'd been wondering what you were up to these days.

A project Bus is a good way to go to build bonds with family, if they are into that sort of thing. Lots of toxic chemical dust though, not good for young kids.

That's been the biggest hangup. My garage is dedicated to my woodshop. I'm in a condo, so no space for a project bus. :(

That is why I do my projects on the road . . . plenty of space.DurocShark wrote:That's been the biggest hangup. My garage is dedicated to my woodshop. I'm in a condo, so no space for a project bus. :(
