A new rebuild...
It's been a while since I have wandered these halls or posted anything. I just thought I'd check in 'n let you know about my latest rebuild.
It's a man.
First I took a man slowly choking out on the crushing futility of soulless "suit and tie" work combined with the three and a half to four numbing hours of daily commuting five days a week, a real basket case. When I attached him to the "WTFometer", I realized that a rebuild was in order...
First I had to yank him out of the Job. He didn't want to come out at first. All stuck in the worn grooves. With some careful persuasion, and a little sweatin', he came out fairly unscathed.
Next I had to lose the suit and tie. It was just aftermarket crap anyway. All shine and didn't really add anything to the functionality.
Then I sent him to a shop...an institution, really... to take down the edges and re-mill to new specs. He came out all balanced and polished.
Well, I just finished putting him back together, added the finishing touches, and took him for a test drive. All indications are that this new rebuild will have many miles, and many adventures this go round.
Truth is, I left my corporate job and went to massage therapy school and just took a job as a licensed massage therapist. It's a brand new me, a'yup.
Lotta stuff changing in the past year and a half and I finally felt like I could look up and wandered back into the forums. It's been good to trip around and see posts from many of the same old hooligans.
Anyway, let me know if you are interested in a "Gypsie Rubdown".
Really.
I'm licensed.

Re: A new rebuild...
Congratulations on the successful rebuild! I've been feeling some deep knocks lately, a lack of pep even when warmed up, and a generally tired performance picture. Seriously considering the same type of overhaul, before the engine blows.

Congratulations Gypsie! =D> I'll save the lewd comments for around the campfire. Where is the job? Still have to do that horrible commute?

Waiting on a paycheck. But let me attest, he da man. I enjoyed a freebie school example that left me limber and spry for a week or more. At this point he can't be anything but more adept.

Re: A new rebuild...
Nice use of metaphor there, Gypsie. And congratulations! And you're just in time to maybe prevent my own seizure. It's the lumbar attenuating articulating confabulator, again.
