now you can embed video, tweets etc just by pasting the link into your post.
Should work for most of the big sites.

also added "online status" under avatar on desktop
will try to work on header next...

I'm getting lost. Signature lines are the same size and color as post text. Separating lines and borders are washed out.

Embedded videos and internet graphics versus simple highlighted links means we will be stuck with all of these others' baroque taste in internet images and graphics right on these pages for posterity.
I seriously do not want to garbage up the place where we have to scroll through a visual junkyard particularly when replies paste the whole prior post a few times down on the threads (like I did here).

I am available for aesthetic guidance/feedback no further away than my PM, and would like others' feedback as well. You can persuade me that I am just old and fuddy duddy.

well i would say thats an extreme quote example^ :flower:

embedded content just makes for a more enjoyable experience and keeps people on the forum.

if we kept it a link, once some one clicks on it they are taken AWAY from the iac.
on the desktop they would go to YouTube site on phone they are taken to youtube App.

embedding them is functionality that is expected.
i really dont see it being over used as most folks here are posting way more pictures than anything else.

btw we have had youtube embeds for over a year. this just made it easier

ill take a look at sig lines etc. let me know if there is anything else.

I made these separating lines darker and changed the sig color.

I guess my personal taste lean towards more subtle design.
the dark borders tend to make it harder for me to browse the page, breaking up the content too much
–but ultimately not tht big of a deal for me either way

for reference the previous 3.0 design can be viewed here:

one more thing for you colin- I would suggest logging out and viewing the board.

3.1.7 added a lot of tools for mods that clutter things up.
the normal viewer does not see these..

I like the embedded code. We drive classic vehicles, doesn't mean we have to have a classic forum. The darker lines make it much easier to distinguish posts from one another. :thumbleft:

Wow, I LOVE the quoted picture reduction feature. I know not everyone can be bothered to parse their reply quotes, so this is a really nice upgrade. The post outlines do make it more functional, but I see the design choices too. Zabo, would you consider making a "wrap up" post when this work is all done, highlighting all the new functional features? Yesterday I discovered some kind of "post review because someone beat you to it" landing page after trying to post, and I was flabbergasted. :) Well done.

I say, I say it is looking more handsome. I am digging the interplay of grey / maroon with white and really appreciate the bordering and lighter signatures. WE HAVE TO HAVE A CLASSIC FORUM, this place was/is/shall be a restful repose from the loud poppy-uppy advertising cheesy tasteless festooned typical bling blat. . . . this place? goes with our genteel VWs.
Colin
( it really *is looking cleaner now* in a way I can relate to )

That was you . . . phew. Last night, I was warned that the bootstrap loader couldn't find the thingamajigger file and the page look liked it had flat-lined.

I added little up/down arrows to the bottom right corner.
These will scroll you to the bottom or top of a page.

They should be especially useful when browsing long threads on your phone.

Let me know if you have any problems.
thanks
