Re: Mitsubishi Fuso FG 140?
interesting, 2wd or the 4wd model?
What are your plans for it? Is it a work machine or are you thinking you would convert the bed into a camper and make it into a Japanese unimog-ish type vehicle?
I have no experience with them, but they sound a little underpowered for hill climbing if you load it up with a full camper setup

Re: Mitsubishi Fuso FG 140?
I probably need one like I need bubonic plague.
They are a 4x4 5 speed 147 hp turbo diesel and really set up to plow snow. 14,000 pound max. No CDL required. They are pretty rugged, turn pretty tightly, and are not really "refined" as set up compared to a domestic pickup truck. They are sort of slow doing 65 down the road (max speed) and are kind of bumpy. Tthey usually go for many hundreds of thousands of miles and get about 15 mpg. I think the 2wds, Fuso HD FE, are a bit more refined, go faster, and get better mileage. I am just thinking about it. They are sort of interesting.
Not the one I am looking at..... just as an example.

Re: Mitsubishi Fuso FG 140?
I love it, but the unusual nature of it would scare me away from using it as a long distance camper (if that's a thought.) Finding the part you need, or someone who knows how to fix one out in the middle of nowhere would be difficult. (I think)
It's probably bulletproof MOST of the time though. That's one of the reasons why ive always like the *idea* of those Ford Van Sportsmobile 4x4 conversions. You can break anything on it anywhere in the states and easily find the parts and service needed to get it back on the road again. Most of them are pigs loaded with way the hell too much fancy bits for my taste, but ive seen some done up mildly and been tempted.
The Fusi would be really fun though. Id deck it out all fake Unimog/Puch style
