He's got less than $3,500 in this garage including the lift (but minus the tools, I assume).

Wow.. that's very well thought out. For a two or two and a half car garage, he made a lot of usable work space.

I'd love to have a lift!

I can only dream of such things.
We have a couple of forum members with dream garages, RandyInMaine, Sean Gallagher, the BobD came from a garage with a lift . . . the Porsche 930 was on the upper bunk.

I do enjoy the aspect of ground clearance that a stock-height bus offers, while places that rent lifts by the hour are becoming more common around the US:

Besides being stocked with tons of tools, a tire balancer, 15-ton press, they have compressed air, chemical cleaners, and some other fun stuff. (And a big-screen TV if you care about such things.)

The problem of me having a setup at home like the video posted is the amount of effort my family and friends would have to exert to get me out of there to socialize. In hindsight, you could probably lock me in there with a Volkswagen for days before I noticed the hunger and thirst kicking in.

Thanks for the mention! The $3,500 includes the flooring, cabinets, paint, workbenches and the lift -- but not the tools or the car.

I finished a home-made video about the place about a week ago. If you're interested in a 10-minute tour of the place, here's a link:
