"News At 11" . . . now in Florida

Post by Amskeptic » Thu Feb 28, 2013 5:00 pm

I was here in Catskills winter wonderland:
Image

. . . cactus was a bit out of phase after that warm spell in Valdosta Georgia, but was happily giving us Christmas blooms in February:
Image

Bob(the)Cat and I were bonded with each other
Image

so why on Earth would I leave this beautiful country house and whispering pines hush?
Image

Because I was so deeply in love with all of it and all of them, that's why.

I packed up the Lexus, we said goodbye through tears, there was no confusion, not with these folks,
Ramona:

and Amy:

and I drove here with an aching heart:

. . . a Pensacola Law Office, my new home full of silence and four bare walls and loneliness:

so I can focus on the book.

I wish you the best, and the peace of mind to complete your task. At least it's not snowing you lizard you.

Ahh Pensacola, I used to live nearby! I love the town, and nearby Ft. Pickens is the ultimate beach getaway from everything. I highly recommend a few walks on the beach down there, you will not be sorry, they are not highly visited at all.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Tough call. Hope all goes well with the book. Certainly there will be opportunities to go back to the Catskills.

I would leave the snowy catskills in a heartbeart ( even with Amy there) to be in Florida now. I would have driven the 69 bay thou and not the Lexus, soulless beast that it is.

We're having a block party this weekend, barbecues, art exhibits, crafts, I'll let you know if it was extraordinarily mighty weird . . .

No you wouldn't have . . . not with rain and hail and hurricanes, hurricanes and hail and rain, hail and hurricanes and rain. Hail, it's not even the rainy season yet.

I second that. Also drive to Orange Beach, touristy but smaller than most. Then some more Civil War forts, like Mobile Bay. Don't forget Destin, lots to do there.
