The head is warped fairly badly -- there's at least twice a "points gap" worth of air between the middle of the head and the straight edge .. I didn't bother measuring just how much gap there actually is because it's irrelevant unless I try getting the head machined. At which point it's the machinist's problem.
I'll be back out working towards putting it all back together in a little bit. Came in to warm up for a bit and eat something .. and find my scotchbrite disc to clean the head & block mating surfaces with. Whee!
