Re: Lucky Lab
Well that was sure fun! What a great bunch of Bus nuts. Great to meet some of you for the first time and great seeing the others I've met before. That parking lot was full of great running buses. If any of you traveling vagabons feel like making it out to Hood River, let me know and I'll show you around and you can camp at my place. However with this heat wave I might blast out to the coast wednesday-Thursday and head back on Friday.

Re: Lucky Lab
Dang straight.
Tristessa let me drive his 5-speed turbo 1.8 bus jacked on one and a sixteenth beers and that thing actually has some engineering going on back there. Smooth, sprightly . . . . :
Xevin made it to the Lucky Lab with Rusty the '72. He is clearly delighted with something about an engine that now only goes 70% as fast as it used to:
Asiab3's illuminated engine room in his bus was detailed to the 10's and his sliding door was 10/10th's too. I was too inebriated to photograph his illuminated engine, or jealous, I can't remember. That was Heather's red bus to the side. She was there. :
The Itinerant guy was there, looking a little inebriated. Did I talk with him? I can't remember:
Hambone showed up in his beautiful bus with really nice hubcaps and the spare wheel matching his air cleaner and generator. I never did get to drive it, I was probably too inebriated:
Mental Q-Tip couldn't bring his bus, so he caught a quick 1.8 turbo shuttle over to the Lucky Lab:
There were more people than I could remember, but Shawn was there, Sluggo (our co-Administrator) was there, NY Cynthia showed up with her yellow '68 parked next to tristessa's 1.8 reverse-rotation turbo 5-speed, man, who all was there, 71 whitewesty, kubelwagen, Gypsie! Sunnydog, Bleyseng-but-briefly, we drank beer:
and Hambone drank beer too:
Even the paparazzi was feeling it:
The Defenders Of The Order Of Baywindow Mechanical Order were pretty focused if the photographer was not:
Vistacruzer and asiab3:
Sunnydog, daughter, and Shawn:
That Itinerant guy just wouldn't give it a rest!:
But the company was excellent, and the beer was too!

I was there in the background and I never saw Gypsie? I had to leave to drive back after 8PM just when the joints were coming out.

Re: Lucky Lab
We had a discussion about the solar eclipse. I don't remember who I was talking with. The discussion got into questions about which way the shadow was going. Somebody threw me off my understanding of the progression.
"Planet rotates from east to west. Eclipse begins on the east coast and ends on the west coast."
Here is a satellite time lapse of a solar eclipse. The moon's shadow skates across from west to east, as I thought. It is astonishingly beautiful to see the weather happen in this time lapse. Hit it before the link goes dead. I'll delete this later after the dead link happens, so you all can get back to the Lucky Lab beer marathon:

Re: Lucky Lab
I know we talked about it on the back porch with Xevin and Cynthia... That post clears things up a bit. :)
I'll post my Lab pictures when I find wifi. Currently on a powerline road outside Los Angeles. (Yes Xevin, you read that correctly.)

Re: Lucky Lab
So we just clocked 1,200 miles in two days, and I'm finally finding a laptop with an SD card slot… I hope you enjoy…
Xevin FINALLY joined me in the kissing booth:
Colin managed to tolerate a hug from Gypsie, though it seems like some substances may have helped…
71whitewesty and I finally got a picture together, after he tried to kill me by giving me a mountain bike last year!
SunnyDog showing off his peppy new 1776cc single port, and the lighting system to match:
And the "game winner" for me was finally getting a picture with that Amskeptic dude after four years of him keeping me on my diagnostic toes.
Good roads everyone, I'll see you folks soon,
Robbie
