I need a 1980 windshield...any idea if these are the same for all years? They are NLA...It seems. I did find some through vintage glass.com, but the guy answering emails comes off as very scammy...

Any thoughts? Any experience with vintage glass?

I got mine from safelite couple of years back. It was around $200.

I don't think it is yet "vintage". Start with your big glass companies and work your way down.

Funny things here. I called a few local places, they tell me NLA. I call safelite, they tell me NLA. That was a year ago, so I gave up. Called this vintage glass guy, who is less than charming, on a recommendation. He had two, for $200 and up. So, he pissed me off, and I called Safelite again...sure enough, they have one...I just have to find a full day to get down and get it...So, Vanagon windshield goes on my Christmas break to-do list.

Not to be confused with:
"So, Vanagon windshield goes on my Christmas to-break do list."

Feel free to chip off the friable rust chunks, wash/dry >(24 hrs), rust-catalyze >(24 hrs), bondo any holes, block sand, prime >(24 hrs), paint >(24 hrs), windshield in. It will be fun.
