Quick intro and my first air-cooled!

Post by Filthy Dub » Thu Mar 10, 2016 12:13 pm

Hey everyone! So, I posted this on the Samba, but figured I would also introduce myself on here. For a quick little intro, I've always been a VW fan, but only ever had water-cooled VWs. Basically, I am new to the air-cooled scene. I bought this bus from a guy who inherited it from an uncle and then let it sit under a covered shelter for roughly a year before deciding to put it on the market.

I am now the proud owner of this sweet red bus and I call her Ramona.

Technical info:
  • 1971 Westfalia
    Stock 1600
    34-PICT carb
Pics of the bus:

Thanks! Looking forward to contributing to the scene. :thumbleft:

Nice interior. Why not sign up for a day with Colin on this year's itinerary, and learn the mysteries of your new air cooled beauty?

I did! Many people recommended that I do and after a few messages back and forth with him, I could tell it was going to be money well spent.

That's terrific. Be prepared to work a full day. Get a good night's sleep before hand...you need to be on your toes mentally. Have coffee on hand. You are in for an exceptional learning experience that takes you far beyond the realm of the air cooled. You'll also have fun.

Great looking bus Filthy Dub, it's 9am on Friday here in Florida and after repairing my front gate unexpectedly =D> Colin has departed here in a cloud of tree pollen (it's everywhere!) he's headed your way! Keep him well lubricated with Coffee, papertowels and Gumout carb spray and you will have a great day!

I just saw him post on the samba that he's broken down at a stop light, but got it pushed into a starbucks! :pale:
