Vanagon Syndrome

A good friend of mine is limping into Miami tomorrow with his '87 Vanagon, and we think it may be suffering from this AFM syndrome. I understand there is a good writeup somewhere, with pics, covering a fix for this. I've searched Samba and Google and found a little info. Anyone know where the concise writeup with the capacitor specs might be found. I do not "thank in advance", but I can promise great appreciation for any help with this.
