Hey Colin, what are your engine temps on steep climbs, at idle and at speed? Just curious.

By the way I admire your habit of making repairs in parking lots, behind malls, and in otherwise incognito locations. I have a perfectly nice garage and still enjoy repairing my van at public parks and behind grocery stores and out in desert campgrounds.
I make it a point to try and return w a vehicle running better than when I left. I'm doubly satisfied after a good wrenching road trip. I found great solace in the idiots guide and John was one to partake in wrenching road trips

I could write a book . . . :blackeye:

Too many variables to go all experty blah blah. The only conclusion I have been confident in making is that if the engine is correctly assembled, tuned, and stock, it has been engineered to be pretty much indestructable in any environment on Earth. The only counter-intuitive learning moment I have experienced is that Type 4 engines actually cool down under full throttle as the rpms drop - at least when it is 110-118* out.
