'Modified' Garage door for vertically challenged openings...

Post by TrollFromDownBelow » Tue Jul 01, 2014 2:21 pm

Did this last weekend after buying a pair of Hankooks for the front, and it would no longer fit in the garage. As long as I have two people in the front seat, no problem getting in and out.

Good for you! It's nice to see someone *not* use that as excuse to go messing with the suspension endlessly, then wonder why their handling sucks.

Somewhere in an alternate universe, some stock purist homeowner is wondering why he butchered an original garage door.

"I don't get it, what IS this?"
"We really have no idea, but it is a good house for $475,000.00, look at that back yard!"
"But why is the garage door notched like THAT?"
"It has three and a half baths, and granite counters, look at that deck!"
"Why is the garage door notched? What purpose could it possibly serve?"
"Sir, we are offering this beautiful home for only $425,000.00, you can FIX the door any way you like."

That would definitely be an alternate universe .... we have one bath, and one working toilet downstairs (we're refinishing the basement...another full bath to come). Our counter tops are ceramic tile (which we did ourselves about 2.5 years ago). Shrink that by about at least 300k and then you are in the real world. :)
