Hey, what's wrong with flowers? Of course, mine have cowboys on them, time for a new theme.

Re: 2 Buses
Oh I love the flowers! I asked Kirk to keep his eye open for me.
Having trouble with this DVDA. Mebbe the Mexican carb too. Best I can do seems to be 30 deg. full advance, then I have to disconnect the retard. If I run it at 32 full advance the retard (barely) barely keeps the idle at 900. If I run it at 28 deg. it doesn't like to idle after a run, and runs hot.
It also doesn't like to start after warm and shut off. I have to crank it a good 6-7 seconds before it catches, pedal floored "the Colin method".
When cold it runs rough for the first minute or so. I don't like it but it's the way it's been.
Hard to tell what to do, if it's the carb or the distributor. I've been chasin my tail here for a month. It seems to like higher advance...

Re: 2 Buses
I think, today Bus2 is pretty much done, new curtains and the interior is finished. It is also looking like I have to sell it, why do I need 2 identical Buses? In a perfect world maybe.
Sure looks nice, all shiny and useful despite the patchwork of the ages. Maybe because of.
I have considered all other options. It will get too beat up in commercial use. Hell this climate alone, camping is rough on the interiors. The world is too fast for me to sit behind an old wheel every day, fighting expanding Ubania as it eats the Earth whole. Alone, or in Alaska maybe I could do it. But Portland is *ing itself.
All new it will make someone a nice reliable vehicle. A photo shoot will be forthcoming.
At the very least this will give me a free summer and a season to travel my favorite region. And I can finally rebuild the trans on Mama Bus.
Onward!

Re: 2 Buses
I would like to see some photos. I too have twin busses by pure luck. Since I've had them I realize how hard it is to find another one. I just can't see selling either of mine. I love both. If I still have them when I'm old I'd like to give one each to my kids. Otherwise I'll use it as a back up bus. Nothing wrong with having twin busses. ;-)

Damn Hammy, that's deep. Maybe it's time embrace a Fuel injected type 4 to keep up You don't have to move to Alaska for solitude. How about some place closer like Greenhorn, OR. See you Monday.hambone wrote: The world is too fast for me to sit behind an old wheel every day, fighting expanding Ubania as it eats the Earth whole. Alone, or in Alaska maybe I could do it. Greenhorn, population 2. Perfect. How the hell did you find that?
Driving thru Vancouver today on 503, lots of people out there, a million cars in the rain. Craziness.

Re: 2 Buses
Time for some modifications you can adjust the distributor. Stop trying to make a stock distributor work without working in it. There are books on modifying them.
