You guys are whooped.
Old mold and a million spiders to cut up an old bus in the rain. What a choice.
After parting out, what to do with the carcass? Who will take it? Parting it out in my driveway may not be a bad idea, assuming I can herd any cats over here. There is that scrap metal place on Columbia.

I believe you still need some proof of ownership like a title before the scraper will take it, so consider the time and money involved especially with a missing VIN plate.

Cut it into pieces and it's not considered a vehicle anymore, just scrap metal. Had to do that with a Squareback parts car that I didn't have (and couldn't get) title for...

How big a job is it to cut it up? I'd want to save the nose. Will the neighbors call the kops?
And then, what to do with the pieces? Will the scrapper pick them up? Otherwise it will just be a steel pile in my yard. I may even need a drop box for all the moldy carpet etc.
Lots of ??? I know, just in uncharted territory again. Yep, Thanks youse.
If it's something I can do in a couple weeks then it might be worth it. Sluggo, you want a poptop?

Cut it up, call one of the junk hauling guys on CL -- might be able to find someone that'll cut a deal on hauling the non-metal to the dump if they get the metal. Take time to find someone legit, not Tweeker Dave's Junk Hauling with a beater truck and posting from a stolen iPhone...

And the other orange Westy and the other rusty Westy and the and the.

My antique club is hauling scrap metal for their fund raiser. If its cut up to not resemble a car I can haul it.

I'm thinking that once Bob gets the 69 home we can guilt him into saving it anyway.

Gonna send the guy a check for 1/2 the '69 and he'll drop it off next week. Yugh.
I would save the damned thing, but it has a lot against it -
no title
missing vin
missing floors
smashed rear end
mold
bad steering box
dead engine
windshield rust

Wagens West http://www.wagenswest.com/ will give $300 for the front beam, trailing arms, and bearing housings. Thanks Kirk that is good to know.

Both, even though we agreed on a deal and the check in the mail. Someone showed up with more $ and that was that. I guess honor is a rare thing in this society. I'm still pretty pissed.
