Looking for a ladder
Greetings, all.
I had a ladder for my bus that I bought at a swap meet for about thirty bucks. It wasn't one of the expensive ones that usually go for at least a hundred, but a lighter knock-off. It was in new condition.
A few weeks ago, somebody stole it, and now I'm looking for a replacement. The internet hasn't been any help to me, but I figure that somebody must know where these are coming from.
Clues, anybody?

Re: Looking for a ladder
PM misszora.
We picked up a well constructed ladder a friend of hers makes locally. Been happy with it, and I thought the price was most reasonable, but still a bigger investment than thirty bucks.

Re: Looking for a ladder
How and where does it attach?
I have one but i don't like the way it attaches to my bus, not that it was made for a bus.

Re: Looking for a ladder
It hangs from the rain rails, with bumpers that rest on the side of the car.

Re: Looking for a ladder
What he said. The better, more expensive ones are usually made of 1" steel tubing or better, but mine was probably more like 5/8" or 3/4" tubing.ruckman101 wrote:It hangs from the rain rails, with bumpers that rest on the side of the car.

To steal a man's ladder is a lousy thing.

Re: Looking for a ladder
there are some 'HWE' style ones that the split guys sometimes use, where it grabs onto the bars of your roof rack instead of the drip rails.
someday id like to switch to that style, as my poor drip rails are getting a little misshapen from my weight pulling down on them with my current ladder.
but, if that's what everyone uses anyway, this is who I got mine from: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/ ... id=1072462

Re: Looking for a ladder
I got a cheap one from J C Whitney years ago. I fitted it with some hangers and a pad for the lower feet, and it worked well.
