Re: Type1 Injector?
Upon further investigation, it looks like type1 and type3 injectors are different...oh fine. Knowing VW, that is very surprising. I wonder why?

Re: Type1 Injector?
Do we have a l-jet D-jet compare and contrast thread. I am interested.
I'll "use the search dummy".

I believe we have no such thread.Gypsie wrote:Do we have a l-jet D-jet compare and contrast thread. I am interested.

D-Jet : meters fuel according to intake manifold vacuum, i.e. "load sensing".
benefit > vacuum leaks make it richer
L-Jet : meters fuel according to air volume only, upstream of the manifold/throttle plate, allegedly more precise.
benefitNOT > vacuum leaks kill it

This is not the place for the above.hambone wrote:Does anyone have a source for the cheapest injectors in town? I'll call Halsey.
Edit: cheapest I can find is $55 each...maybe I only need a couple? Only way to tell is to take the freaking things apart again.
Edit2: a guy on the Samba is selling used ones for $25 each. Am I taking a stupid chance?

Re: Type1 Injector?
This whole thread is about getting new injectors, or the reliability of new vs used, as well as cost.
Where do we draw the line? I am confused. I thought my stumbles would be helpful for someone down the line.
If this thread doesn't belong in Technical then please move to the appropriate place.

This thread is not a technical question thread, it is a parts procurement question thread that involves a Squareback. Where shall we put it, I will defer to your decision.
