what would you say is the quintessential year/ model of Volkswagen?

I personally like the '68-'72 model beetle/ super beetle ('71 and '72). I don't have any experience with older than that vintage.

1964 Bug, I owned one for five years and drove it everywhere. It had a 1200 SP in there too, what a car!
