My new addition: 1963 Beetle
=D>
So after selling my 1967 Beetle a few years back I always regretted it... It was so much fun, it was simple, it had the same motor as my bus, etc...
But it was lowered so it drove like shit, it needed a brake job, and I convinced my self to sell it.
Well yesterday my girlfriend Melannie and I drove down to Salem and picked up Maggie, our 1963 Beetle. It looks to have been changed over to a "Cal" look with the 1-piece windows and stupid side mirror, and the wheels. But I'll slowly be changing her back. I might have a line on some bumpers and doors with vent wings!
Best part is she runs and drives awesome, and stops real good!
I need to replace the windshield and rubber too. No leaks, just cracked real bad. Where can I find replacement glass here in the Portland area?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. She doesn't START on her own. I have a new bushing to replace it with. Hopefully its not a hard job. GOnna head out here in a bit to give it a shot.
It's also been converted to 12 volt.

Sweet ride Maz, I had a 64, and they are simple, no dash to crack and fade, I miss mine.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Hiya Maz,
Oh, you are a good man. Maggie will appreciate you for this.Maz804 wrote:...... It looks to have been changed over to a "Cal" look with the 1-piece windows and stupid side mirror, and the wheels. It doesn't leak at all, which is awesome, and it's nice to have the natural light up there. But I'm no stock nazi, and putting a ragtop is surely the plan later on down the road!
