That's beautiful man. As a former industrial electrician, I cried a little. :geek:

Ya. there's a reason they went to 12.
However I used to have a 6V DeSoto that had no problems with lights or cranking.

I would think that Les could cough up a six volter.

Mid-day sounds pretty workable to me. Before I committ myself body and soul, let me do a little checking. But I'm thinking that sounds like a plan.
Hey Mike!
Just wrapped up with Colin...we had to have pizza and beer before tackling my sliding door.

Just heard back from the bug guy and he said we can come on out...just not before 10am (which I assume is not an issue).

I didn't pursue Colin on the issue.

Let me know what you think.

Hiya Paige,

I think I'm good to go. Still have an issue or two on this end but it's looking workable at this point.

Whatcha' got in mind?

Gonna take pity on Ol' 12 volt Hambone?
I have cancer.

It does not have me.

Good morning Mike!

I will PM you...I am meeting Hal at Trafton's this a.m. to do some parts trading, need to come back and adjust MZ's valves and exhaust manifold bolts then call the guy. I'm thinking of heading out by noon.

Sending you the PM now with the info.

YAY!!!

p.s. I'm just looking at the bug and I respect Hambone's (and everyone's) opinion here...you are my VW family. =D>

Back in the day, at 100k we would install new heads as they were worn out...
Howdy!
So what would new heads run for these bugs? Maybe I can factor that into the negotiations.

Paige, if the '64 you're looking at doesn't work out, a guy I work with is looking for a good home for his '71 Super Sedan. Same color as the Vandejo. I think he really wants someone to love it and to provide better care than he is capable of. You can read into this that money isn't his top priority. I've seen it and it looks pretty good, but of course could use some cosmetics. Since you're a past customer of Willy, I know you know how to get that done. If you like, I can get more particulars (at least a picture!) and what his asking price is.

He's a good guy and practically had tears in his eyes when he asked me if I knew of anyone that was looking for a bug. He said if he doesn't find a buyer he's going to donate it to a church group that provides cars for young college students. That might make him feel better, but I doubt a random college kid has the love and Colin-educated knowledge that you do for ACVW's.
