Type 181 VW Thing....super heavy duty front end that off road racers really want. Also HD trans and CV's too!

I'm finishing up making front hood, deck lid seals and a package for the rubber edge welting for the sides too!

I also make PC (Lexan material) .060" or .090" thick replacement windows too!

Um. I don't know a lot about Things, but I'll pretend for a minute. Check the reduction gear boxes on the rear wheels if your model has them. They are kind of pricey to rebuild, I hear.

I just got back from looking at it. It's a '73 and the odometer shows 58K and it still has the original exhaust....so I'm guessin the mileage is right....It's real solid for sitting out in a back yard of the past 10 years. No real rust besides some small holes in the floor. It's bright yellow faded to almost white with a brown stripe. It has roll bar too. When they get a title they are going to call me back. I gave them the forms to get one from Broadway title.
I can hardly wait for that phone call.
I'll post a pic or 2 as soon as Win7 decides to let me copy them off my camera w/o crashing explorer.
Take care,
Rick

I think they were VW's version of the jeep....yes. I do know the front suspension is a unique heavy duty beam, that's highly sought after by dune buggy builders.
